4.30 #3 FURIOUSA finish a length second in a similar track-and-trip event last time (She Is A Spy third and Unimaginable fourth ) and on that form line she does have a winning chance in a very weak field.

5.00 #2 DEMOCRAT narrowly failed to land a gamble over 1200m last week and he should prove a tough nut to crack with top rider in saddle. 

5.30 #1 KIMBERELLA is doing well off her current rating and perhaps the drop in trip could see her in the winner's enclosure. Strong fancy. 

6.00 #1 GALLANTRY finished third in a stronger event (Grade 3) here last month and looks up to landing this finale. 

6.30 #1 ROSPOMARE stamina was clearly stretched over 1¼m last time and, back at what appears to be his optimim trip, he should get into the finish this time. Rider repeats. 

While #11 FOREVER FREE should also make her presence felt. Don’t ignore 

7.00 #5 ALPINE EXPRESS has filled second place on his last couple of starts and he can be supported to go one better this evening with champion jockey on-board. 

7.30 In form #7 CORMORANT can rack up the hat-trick following back-to-back C&D victories. 

8.00 A chance is taken on #3 COLOSSEUM, who doesn't have many miles on the clock, drops in class and uses Blinkers for the first time. Distance is ideal. 

#1 WHO MAKE THE RULES has been unreliable of late but is capable of an upset.

5.00 #4 JUSTIFIED makes most appeal of those with experience and should go close if reproducing the form of his debut over this course and distance.

5.30 #2 FLYING DRAGON has been struggling to get competitive of late but commands respect now eased in grade. While #4 WHO’SYOURDADDY will appreciate the step up in trip and drop in class. Don’t discount. 

6.00 #1 BAIT AND SWITCH shaped with an abundance of promise when second over C&D on debut and is entitled to improve with that experience now under his belt. Hard to beat. 

6.30 Debutant #13 RHAPSODY is bred to make an impact first time up and has impressed in trials. 

7.00 #6 JUNO’S GUEST was a clear winner here last time and has a fantastic chance of following up if in the same form over a slightly reduced trip.

7.30 #5 JETFIRE was knocking at the door before gelding. He has the best of the draw and should look to roll forward. 

8.00 #1 STRONG STORM has been knocking on the door in good company and perhaps this could be her day with apprentice taking a handy 3.5kg off her back.

5.30 #2 BENEVOLENCE continues to run well and should be prominent again. Handicap favours. Of the less exposed sorts, fashionably bred #1 KENNEDY looks one that could go on improving, so he's worthy of consideration with 5kg claimer. 

6.00 #7 WIZARD OF STOCKS is bred to make an impact first time up and represents top yard. 

6.30 Top miler #1 SERJEANT AT ARMS returned to form with a very easy win last time out and can follow up. 

7.00 #3 PABLO took a marked step forward when pulling clear of the remainder last start  and should benefit from a promising claimer taking 5kg off, so he's a relatively confident selection. 

7.30 #3 TENERIFE ended a good third in a better field than this last time out but does have a winning chance this time back to her own age group. 

8.00 #10 SHE IS A SPY is clearly better than her last run would suggest and she does have a winning chance in this field.

5.30 Close contest to start the evening. EXCELLENT SORRENTO coming off a win last start over C&D with blinkers off and Neeraj Rawal has had success aboard previously, top pick. WESTERN FRONT ran on strong to finish on the winner's heels last start  and could take home a cheque. ZANZIBAR finished seventh last start, ran a good 2nd behind Truly Epic earlier and in with a handicap chance. Ignore his Hyderabad run, TRULY EPIC finished strongly to finish close 3rd prior, dangerous although out-handicapped. 

My choice #4 EXCELLENT SORRENTO

6.00 DESPACITO and PERWINKLE make their debut and the betting could be the best guide to their chances. CHEPHIRAH resumes after a break and has been worked well ,the testing material. TURMERIC TOWER was well beaten recently over this course and distance but is capable of doing better and do have a winning chance but has the widest draw for short scurry. WHYDAH, who shaped with tons of promise in his latest workout, might pose a bigger threat first time out. Appeals on bloodlines. 

My choice #12 WHYDAH

6.30 Follow the betting moves as mostly unexposed youngsters face the starter here. MZILIKAZI showed potential in his Barrier Trial and the runner-up of that gallop went onto to win thereafter. BELENUS had excuses ( twice interfered) for poor show last time when favourite. Her earlier run to Gallantry was eye catching and she is drawn nicely. SALTBAE may need his first run as a gelding and could improve. SEE THE SUNRISE can also be expected to go well. Has a wide draw. 

My choice #3 MZILIKAZI 

7.00 CLYMENE drops in grade but has to concede weight. HOLY SMOKE knows how to win and is the biggest danger. GAZINO has good early speed and carrying less weight, outside hope. EXCELLENT won well enough to suggest he can do well given the right handicap even at this shorter trip. Also has age in favour. EXCELLENT GOLD continues to hold his form but is battling to win. Appeals on handicap. 

My choice #6 EXCELLENT 

7.30 THOMAS HARDY shaped with plenty of promise when making a winning introduction here last month and is worth keeping on right side. Distance suits. GENTILLESSE and FLYING DRAGON can scrap it out for the silver medal.

8.00 SHIVALIK QUEEN can make amends for her narrow defeat last time out. Has better draw and will appreciate the shorter trip. PLEIADES is still unexposed and is open to further progress after only five starts. Note the rider switch. RED CARNATION beat ordinary set to shed his maiden tag and is up in grade. SANDALPHON is still a maiden and has been unreliable of late but is capable of an upset. SPEEDO and BRAVE both have low weights and can fight it out for the places.
