Short Selections for Mumbai races 16/1/2014

RACE 1) DOUBLE OR QUITS
Ran a forward race last time out,beaten 1/2 a length 4th.Now 200m more to run, has a good chance to score.

RACE 2) KAZURI
Is the only experienced horse in this field,should win unless some other good type debutant surprises.

RACE 3) KNIGHT OF KE
Was unlucky to be pipped last time.Working extremely good since that run,should be a strong fancy.

RACE 4) PAPPILLON (E/W)
Ran unextended 6th in his last start over a mile trip.Now working well and can upset with 200m more to travel.

RACE 5) BAD RACE
 DHISHKYAON / STORM LIGHTNING
Watch for race time trend.

RACE 6) SILVER STREAK
In race no 89 (2000G) set pace till turn before giving up entering the straight.After participating in classics,now returns back and demoted to handicap races.should be considered in this tough field.

RACE 7) LUCKY THIRTEEN
Bangalore based horse,won well in lower class over 1400m,indicating he can be useful over a distance trips.Long Mumbai stretch may suit him,a good chance bet.

RACE 8) LIGHT OF ARABIA
Out of speedy mare,this half sister to Ishpingo is bred to be speedy and looks set for a winning debut.

RACE 9) ICE SKATER
Now running right distance and may pull off at this mark.

RACE 10) ARABIAN QUEEN
Still unexposed after just four starts.Showed some sign of form while finishing close second in her last start over a short scurry.
Now 200m more to run,should run a good race.

My selections and choices for Mumbai races are under;

RACE 1]
ARCHIMEDES: Ran poorly in his last start,may have needed that run.Now working well and blinkers replaced by SSCP,can make amend.
SUPERLICIOUS: Playing bridesmaid since last two runs,keeps finding someone better,becomong frustration to follow.Rider is out of form.
FLEETWOOD MAC: Runnung after long lay off,is working fairly well,may place.

My Choice: ARCHIMEDES for win.

RACE 2]
ANTONIUS MAXIMUS: Proven stayer,but lacks pune form,may win if wentworth doesn't stay the trip.
WENTWORTH: Running with feather weight,why to take risk on low odds as he is uncertain to stay this longer trip.

My Choice: ANTONIUS MAXIMUS for win.

RACE 3]
FABULOUS FLORENCE: Winner over same trip in her penultimate start,now conceding weight.
SONG SAA: In her last start she was 11th at the bend.thereon covered lot of ground and won impressively indicating longer trip should suit her.Now 200m more to run,has a bright chance to score again.
ICE COOL: Showed good effort in his last run after long absence.With jockey change to Sandesh and with benefit of run should run a bold race.
MALKIA: Should be followed in a maiden set.But has a handicap in favour.

My Choice: SONG SAA for win.

RACE 4]
M U R I O I (Derby warm up race)
RACE 5]
ESTABLISH PREDATOR: In his last start over 1200m,came flying from the rear and ended close 6th,now demoted to lower class.Should be in contention.Not worth taking chance if odds are low as anybody can win in class VB race.
JENS SECRET: Failed favourite in her last start,has come down in weights and looks in a good mark at present.Should involve in the finish with same rider astride.
STAR PRINCE:Another one who has come down and is winner twice over this trip.Can upset if rediscovers his form.
TUSCANIA: Broke blood vessel in her last start and ended faraway 4th.Now bears close watching as now she gets better rider for the first time after 12 starts.

My Choice: TUSCANIA for win.

RACE 6]
MYKONAS: Finished close second in her last start when she was alerted bit late.Now conceding weights against some very good sprinters,tough task to win,should place.
WAR HORSE: Finished second in his last start over 6 furlongs trip while trying start to finish attempt.Now running within a week and 200m less to travel may strike at good odds.
INTESAR: Winning looks tough in this field,may at best place.
FONTANELLE: Had a lung opener this season and is tracking fine,looks a leading fancy over here.

My Choice: WAR HORSE for win.

RACE 7]
Race for 3 yrs old maiden horses mostly spring a surprise.Better skip this race or select after looking condition of horse in the paddock.

RACE 8]
BLUE BAY: Was unluck to get collared last time out.Is quite speedy and is in great heart at present may defy the top weight to win in this ordinary field.
SCARLET OF HOPE: Is knocking at the door from some time now,but has been alloted outermost draw in a short scurry may place.
TEMPTEST: Had a lung opener and now looks to be in handy mark ,should be a leading fancy over here.

My choice: BLUE BAY for win.

RACE 9]
RAJSAMMAN: Negative draw and whipless jockey doesn't impress for a win.
RECKLESS: May place.
VIXEN: In her last start showed terrific speed to score a runaway victory on debut.May find difficult to repeat under a heavy penalty.
ADIOS AMIGO: Had a nice educative run in Pune.This half brother to Hawaiin Princess may need this run but is tracking extremely well and is always dangerous to ignore Shroff wards as you never know what kind of preparation has been made by the master trainer.

My Choice: ADIOS AMIGO for win.

Nice and competitive card framed for Sunday races.

Selections and choices as under;

RACE 1) Class VB race and small field of 6 runners is always a risk from betting point of view.Better skip or bet small eachway on Shroff stable discarded BINZZ which after running over 1400m where she led upto 400m,than dropped back,now running over 1200m trip,may try pillar to post.

My Choice BINZZ Eachway.

RACE 2) Race for Maiden 3yrs old.I think this race should be a straight fight between only two horses ie: War Machine and Troppa Bella. Both are working exrtemely good in morning trials especially former who in her last spurt on 27/12/2013 has defeated speedy Brindaban by 5 lengths.

My Choice WAR MACHINE for win.

RACE 3) J E R E M I A H for win.(Derby warm up for him)

RACE 4) Another race for maiden 3 yrs old.
Celtic Prince is working very well,but runs first time against others who have already made their debut,may need this run.
Dazzle N Dale finished on board in his last start,may place.
Fiesty Lass failed as favourite in her last race where she looked well in control till 300m with what seemed a handy lead,but when asked for an effort didn't quicken and finished in the rut.Owner placed has three runners over here.
Koalaa in her last start did not get clear passage in the straight and ended close third.Has been tracked after that run and now jockey change to C.S.Jodha looks serious contender over here.
Majestic Opinion from Bangalore ran good second in only her start over 1200m,indicating she needs more ground for her comfort.Has been tracked exclusively and looks like probable contender for Poonawala Multimillion from Goldie Brown yard.

My choice MAJESTIC OPINION for win.

Due to some emergency,posting only short selection and brief analysis for the remaining races.

RACE 5)
My choice SATURDAY AFFAIR for win.
It is difficult for a filly to win conceding weight to others.but with benefit of run and top jockey astride I think Saturday Affair should prevail over here in this weak field.

RACE 6) FOREST VISION for win.
In her last start on last sunday she finished eye catching 3rd to Heatwave over 1400m.
Now running within a week and 200m more to travel,has a bright chance over here.

RACE 7) ROSIE SUNSHINE for win.
The unconquered filly has gone strength to strength since her debut in Pune,is in great heart and she appeals ferociously on weights, should run a bold race in this highly competitive field of classic sprinters.

RACE 8) GLORIA for win.
In her last start over 1200m she was last at the bend and came flying to finish a very close 3rd to Incentio was pick of the lot.Now 200m more to travel she comes to reckon if she reproduces same run. 

RACE 9) NATALIAN EXPRESS for win.
Winner in lower class,were she won with a bit to spare indicting she can win again under a penalty.

VALUE BETS: FOREST VISION, NATALIAN EXPRESS

My Short selections are as under.

RACE 1] RISING ANGEL: Ignore her previous few runs,is tracking well,is very speedy and looks well handicapped at present.Can run away start to finish if reproduces her trackwork.

RACE 2] STRIKING SHADOW: Showed some improvement in his last start while finishing unextended fourth now TS on and jockey changed to C.S.Jodha.shows the positive intent of the connections and should be a strong fancy over here.  

RACE 3] REYNOLDS: Well bred lightly raced gelding,finished good third over 2000m in his last start.Is been worked extremelly well and looks a leading contender over this mile and a half trip.

RACE 4] VICTORIOUS MARCH: Was gallant in defeat and a worthy runner up to record breaking WAY OUT.Is in great heart at present and should win over here with A.Sandesh up.
Rio may struggle over long Mumbai straight as seen in his both starts and speedy Brindaban now on promotion may find difficult to catch Victorious March with whipless rider astride.

RACE 5] BELMONT: In his both starts (current season) put in a brave efforts while finishing very close second over same trip against very good younger opposition.Now should make amends.
P.O.P is running first time over a mile trip and Domingo is running first time this season.

RACE 6] WAR HORSE: In race no 6 (1400m) finished good third to Beforememoryfades where he sprinted ahead and led till 300m.Now tracking fine and is running over right distance,will try start to finish.

RACE 7] SHISHYA: In her last start (2000M) ran a good race till 200m,then weakened.Now 200m less to run and with allowance rider should run a good race.

RACE 8] MAGIC STAR: In his last start ran a good forward race and finished second to ZoomZoom,showed good speed and now has a good chance as he is running over same trip and with useful allowance rider on board.

Day's Best: VICTORIOUS MARCH
Value Bets: WAR HORSE, MAGIC STAR.
Upset: RISING ANGEL
