Hello Friends,
BANGALORE 1000 GUINESS consists a small field of seven runners and i think almost everybody has a good chance to score over each other. Here is my brief explanation and stastics of each contestant.
1]ALCAZABA [BURDEN OF PROOF-ALHAMBRAH
by Tejano[USA], out of Arabian Rose, by Razeen]
Alhambrah did not race.
Alcazaba raced 5 times,won thrice 1100/1200/1400 M respectively,
and Placed once in 1400 M where she was beaten by Lad Star at the post.
She finished 4th to Supreme Regime by 2 and a 3/4 length in Bangalore Summer Million (Gr 3) 1600 M.
As she is fit and fine and is in good form should be a main contender over here.
2]BEAUTY IS TRUTH [TEJANO(USA)-CAPRESE by Burden of Proof[IRE], out of Cape Star, by Malvado[CAN]
Caprese won 7 races at 3 and 4 (1200 m. to 1400 m.), ` 28,05,721 and placed incl. 2nd in Chief
Minister’s Cup, Gr.3, 3rd in Fillies’ Trial Stakes, Gr.1, Bangalore 1000 Guineas, Gr.2, Karnataka
Racehorse Owners’ Association Mysore 1000 Guineas, Gr.3, 4th in Karnataka Juvenile Million,
Gr.2, etc
Beauty Is Truth is the only maiden participant in this field.Out of her ten career starts
she has placed thrice second and once third. Her close second to Amelia in The Fillies Championship Stakes
(Gr I) 1600 M where she finished ahead of one of the best horses in the fray like Starry Eyes,Southern Sky,Striking,Apparition,Mariinsky etc. to name a few is her best run so far.If generates that kind of a run she can upset in this lot.
3]DUMA [PHOENIX TOWER(USA)-FIRE CREST by Southern Halo, out of Steal a Kiss[USA], by Graustark.]
Firecrest won 4 races at 4 (1400 m. to 2200 m.), ` 8,41,549 and placed incl. 3rd in Golconda
St. Leger, Gr.2, Nizam’s Gold Cup, Gr.3, etc; dam of:
FIRED UP (ch g 2004 by Placerville[USA]), 2 wins at 3 and 4 (1200 m. and 1600 m.)
Out of her 6 starts DUMA has won 4 times, once in 1100 M and thrice in 1200 M and her all wins have come at Mysore.Only once tried over a mile trip where she was last. Her pedigree suggests she can easily stay a mile trip. Now massive switch of Jockey to Jimmy Fortune(can he change her fortune?) should run a bold race.
4]ISN'T SHE SPECIAL [ACE(IRE)-RAIN SPLASHER by Placerville(USA),out of Rasant(CAN),by Assert(IRE).]
Out of 5 runs she have won twice 1200 M & 1600 M ie.Mysore 1000 Guiness, and once placed closed second on her debut.
Should be a main contender to beat Mariinsky.
5]KETURAH [BURDEN OF PROOF(IRE) - ASTRODANCE by Bold Russian[GB], out of Scaglietti, by Everyday II*, out of Turf Hawk.]
ASTRODANCE won 3 races at 3 (1100 m. to 2400 m.),incl. Usha Stud Calcutta Oaks,
Gr.3 and placed 3rd in Queen Elizabeth II Cup, Gr.3, 4th in Wills Calcutta Derby Stakes, Gr.1, etc;
Keturah ran eight races, won four times, once at 1200 M & thrice at 1400 M.Her last victory at Mysore just 15 days back was impressive where she won by over 9 lengths, but that was in mediocre company as over here she is facing some of the genuine milers.
6]MARIINSKY [BURDEN OF PROOF(IRE) - SABRE DANCE by Bold Russian[GB], out of Dancing Dissident, by Everyday II*]
SABRE DANCE won 3 races at 2 to 4 (1100 m. to 2400 m.),incl. Castrol Calcutta Oaks, Gr.3, etc; dam of:
Scimitar (ch g 2004 by Burden of Proof[IRE]), 4 wins at 2 to 6 (1200 m. to 2000 m.),
and placed incl. 3rd in Golconda 2000 Guineas, Gr.2, 4th in Vijay Textiles Golconda
Derby Stakes, Gr.1, etc.
FLEETING ARROW (b c 2005 by Burden of Proof[IRE]), 7 wins at 3 (1400 m. to 1600 m.),
incl. Colts’ Trial Stakes, Gr.1, Harvins Bangalore 2000 Guineas, Gr.2, Heeroji Lad
Bangalore Juvenile Million, Gr.3 and placed 3rd in Chief Justice’s Cup, Gr.3, 4th in Poonawalla
Bangalore Derby, Gr.1, Johnnie Walker Gold Label Indian 2000 Guineas, Gr.1, etc.
Out of her 9 career starts, Mariinsky won 4 races, twice at 1200 M and twice at 1400,Incl.Calcutta
Fillies Trial Stakes. For the first time in her carrier, this Shroff trained fillie is going over a mile trip
(excuding her Bangalore Derby run),and her pedigree suggests that the mile trip will suit her and is the horse
everyone have to beat.
7]WHISPERING GALLERY [BACHELOR DUKE - INTELLECTUAL[GB] by Dubai Destination, out of
In the Groove, by Night Shift, out of Pine Ridge]
Intellectual did not race.
But her Sire Bachelor Duke was a LEADING NZ FIRST SEASON SIRE 2008/09
• Gr.1 CLASSIC WINNER at three years
• Closely related to SIRE LEGENDS – NUREYEV, SADLER’S WELLS, FAIRY KING & EL CONDA PASA.
Whispering Gallery ran three races,(excluding a race in which she was disqualified for banned substance),out of which she won one at 1400 M and placed once.On basis of her pedigree she comes into a classic contention and should run a good race.
Regards.
