4.45 #9 FRANZ FERDINAND raced on the speed and weakened when fourth over 1400m last start. The shorter journey looks a plus and rates as one of the main chances. Strong fancy. 

5.15 Well bred #1 MULTISTAR'S recent form poor but now drops in grade and with blinkers off could show up in this ordinary set.
