4.30 Progressive in three starts, #5 TENACIOUS best effort coming last time over 7f here when fourth in higher grade. Drops back in grade and stepping up in distance looks the right call and may not be far away once again with top jockey in saddle. 

5.00 It might pay to side with sparingly raced #4 EAGLE IN THE SKY, who is entitled to improve for reappearance over a mile here earlier in the month. Likes to hit front and dangerous if getting to dictate matters. 

5.30 #1 NOBLE HEIR showed a fantastic attitude when winning over 6f here last time and with this step up in trip unlikely to pose any problems, he gets the vote to score a quick encore. 

6.00 Got abroad well bred filly #12 SPRING GROVE arrives here having shown significant promise on the gallops and she can prove up to making a winning debut.

6.30 #8 KARIEGA has been highly tried in her career in listed events and found Grade 1 company too hot to handle at this track earlier in the season. This looks like a good opportunity to have been found by trainer to get her resume her earlier progress. While progressive #9 RAINBOW TROUT holds the aces on the form book and would be folly to ignore at this handicap. 

7.00 #3 THOMAS HARDY drops in grade after his disappointing show in upper grade but when the five-year-old is on form he is extremely hard to beat. If the selection puts in another poor performance then another class dropper #1 SAFDAR would be the most likely beneficiary. 

7.30 Nicely bred #1 MIKLAYA’S PRIDE performed well when second in class 4 on his latest start and can take full advantage of a drop in class. While #10 NORTHERN SINGER may benefit from the drop in grade and can spring a surprise.
