Mumbai 24/1/2020
4.30 C&D winner #4 VAN DYKE returns from a long absence having last been seen in the mansoon of 2018 at Pune. He has impressed in a recent mock race and has plenty of class against these to resume his winning ways if returns ready to rock and roll.
5.00 #2 NICOLLINI showed a fantastic attitude when winning her maiden over a mile here last time and with this step up in trip unlikely to pose any problems, she gets the vote to defy a 5kg rise.
5.30 #4 ZENON was beaten by Augustus Caesar over this trip earlier in Pune and could feasibly turn the tables on his reopposing foe now locking horns on better terms.
6.00 #5 MOON RIVER would not have to be anything special to land this. The well-bred and half sister to Indian Oaks winner Roberta does not meet any outstanding rivals and may be good enough second time up with stable’s retainer in saddle.
6.30 #2 TITANIUM has been running well at a higher level of late and is the one to beat in this lower grade. The well bred gelding will relish the step up in distance.
7.00 #3 DEL MAR scored over inadequate 5f last month with Hidden Gold in second spot. The latter has since won last week and may appreciate the step in distance and will be hard to hold out.
7.30 #8 CHEPHIRAH arrives in search of a hat-trick of victories having followed up a course success last month, and the four-year-old may have more in the locker upon class promotion.
8.00 #4 PEERLESS will be fitter for recent reappearance run here over 5f following a long break since July; has been eased in grade and has age in favour. While #4 REGAL SHOT can spring a surprise off this lenient mark.
DAYS BEST: DEL MAR
GOOD LUCK
